150th Commemoration Weekend Celebrating the History and Beauty of Tulocay Cemetery

• June 13th Open House, 10am to 5pm. Enjoy self-guided tours all day and visit our new funeral home. Download our tour map and guides now or pick them up at the event. Guided tours at 11am and 1pm.

• June 14th Flag Ceremony, 11am to 1pm. In honor of Flag Day, there will be an official flag-raising ceremony and funeral home dedication at noon. Gather to place flags on markers and tour the grounds.

The discovery of gold in California was just ten years in the past when the cemetery was founded in 1859. The fledgling city of Napa was nestled on the west side of the Napa River, and Don Cayetano Juarez's Rancho Tulocay stretched along the eastern river bank. The cemetery is located on land which he donated

Cemetery Grounds Peter Manasse became cemetery manager in 1993 after serving on the board for 22 years. At that time he said, "we want to make this one of the nicest cemeteries in Northern California." Nine years later, extensive renovation and replanting have turned the cemetery into a garden spot for visitors who are encouraged to stop by.
